Where are you from? What do you do?

I’m a satellite engineer (I’ve contracted for NASA, NOAA and several other companies). I’m from El Paso, Texas but spent 11 of the best years of my life in Silicon Valley in California. I now reside in Colorado.

How did you hear about BeGreat Bow Ties?

I had seen one on someone on Instagram and decided to check it out... as soon as I saw that the cause behind it was suicide prevention I knew I had to get one! That is a cause that is near and dear to my heart and my Instagram page is a place where I talk often about it.

Which BeGreat Bow Tie do you own?

HOPE was the word I chose

What made you choose HOPE? What does it mean to you?

It is an endless resource: Hope. Humanity can never run out of hope. At a point in my life when I thought I had run out of hope, I discovered exactly how infinite it really is. And my bow tie symbolizes that for me.

Who are some of your style influences/influencers?

I think my mom was my #1 style influencer! She always has great flair! In addition, I’m into 90s style, so Alicia Silverstone, Claire Danes and Winona Ryder are big on my list too. (What can I say? I was a teen in the 90s!). Rita Hayworth is also a huge style influence for me. She’s a silver screen goddess with such a classic style.

What does being GREAT mean to you?

Being great comes with a responsibility to be vulnerable. If you want to move someone’s heart, you have to be willing to show your hardships and flaws. I see greatness in other people’s struggles when they are willing to show them. It’s so beautiful to witness!
